Zacchaeus was initially lost and confused about the real eudaimonia or happiness in this world. And sometimes, just like Zacchaeus, I also consider myself as an Anawim: the last, the least and the lost. There was a point in my life that I felt so empty and distraught. Because of the challenges, pain, and sufferings that continuously and spontaneously entered my life for the past few years, I started to question the existence of God and His begotten son. I admit that somehow I became lost— like Zacchaeus. I failed. I stumbled. I sinned so much. But despite these weaknesses and mistakes, Jesus still open His door to save me and bring me back in His arms. Like what He did to Zacchaeus, He searched for me and seek for my attention, just to say and assure me that everything will be alright, and will fall according to God's will.

There are a lot of images and characteristics of God that Jesus portrayed in the movie. It revolves around the acronym that I have made—3 C’s or C.C.C. The first C is being Considerate. Zacchaeus sees Jesus as a caring and thoughtful God. Because Jesus sees his effort and perseverance in climbing up the trees just to see Him. He is truly considerate because, in spite of the rumors about Zacchaeus being a sinful tax collector, He still restored and brought Zacchaeus’ dignity, which was lost by sin. The second C is Compassionate. Jesus showed His full concern and sympathy for Zacchaeus as well as to the blind man. Jesus brings compassion and mercy to all humanities especially to those Anawims. And the last image that Jesus portrayed in the movie is that He is a Christ of all. No doubts, Jesus is the Christ of all. This image of Jesus relies on being a top-functionary. He is a humble Supreme Being that knows everything but still will never judge you. He proved that in the clip, when He initiated to seek the attention of Zacchaeus and was humble enough to look him up of the sycamore tree, and gave salvation.

Indeed Jesus is Considerate, Compassionate, and an all-sufficient Christ! Through these 3 C's, Zacchaeus unleashed the real source of happiness and his divine purpose here in the world, it is to selflessly serve the last, least and lost. Because the true wealth can be found in giving and sharing everything you have with everyone who does not have. And through these 3 C's, I am saved. I failed Him, He understood. I stumbled, He picked me up. I sinned so much, He forgave.

Zacchaeus became blinded by his wealth. By this, it made him become the kind of person who set aside the chance to do his work with integrity for the sake of his own good. He is committed to his job but it gradually made him selfish and greedy because he chose to be alike with his colleagues who are known to be dishonest in terms of doing their job.

People tend to be dishonest at times whenever they get pressured, and I see that as a resemblance between Zacchaeus and me. It is clear enough that Zacchaeus had a choice but because of the norms in his job, he was pressured to work under encouraged corruption. This also happens to me at times I get pressured, but not as extreme as his case. Aside from that, I also see that we are both willing to accept and pay for the mistakes that we’ve done. And lastly, the best that we have in common is our faith in God.

Despite the bad things that he had done in the past, he still chose to repent and listen to Jesus. Jesus will always believe that people are capable of doing good things and Zacchaeus proved to the people who judged and did not believed him. It is never too late for anyone to change if they will just whole heartedly accept and decide to pursue the right path. We must be willing to admit our mistakes and repay for the bad things that we’ve done; and to put God first before everything else.

The story of Zacchaeus depicts that his encounter with Jesus changed him. Zacchaeus was a tax collector whose wealth came from his dishonesty of collecting taxes for the Romans. Jesus changed his life in a way that he is now repenting from the sins that he comitted. Zacchaeus promised to Jesus to give half of his possessions to the poor and to pay back four times what he cheated from others. Christ salvation made Zacchaeus to repent.

The story of Zacchaeus shows us that Jesus Christ loves us no matter how much we have been through in our lives. He loves us at our utmost soul no matter how much we have sinned in our lives.

It does not matter of who and what we are, He doesn’t care on how we look at in our physical aspects. He will save anyone and everyone from sin as long as you submit yourself to him.

There was a rich young man named Zacchaeus who happens to be a chief tax collector for the Romans. Zacchaeus was small in stature and that resulted to people looking down on him literally and figuratively. He became a tax collector to gain respect despite being hated and despised by his own people because they are stealing money and of their domination.

The image of Jesus presented here is not an Olympian figure but rather a humble Supreme Being. Zacchaeus sees Jesus as a humble leader because He is involved with Zacchaeus’ personal experience. Jesus initiated the meeting and even called Zacchaeus by his first name; despite Jesus being looked up to with respect. Jesus looked up to Zacchaeus and sees him as an individual of inherent worth, and someone uniquely designed. When people started to despise Zacchaeus, it left a deep wound on him. It made him materialistic, a sinner, and his dignity was crushed. His perception of life changed because of his encounter with Jesus. Jesus being friendly to him resulted Zacchaeus to become a committed follower of the Lord.

We all want what is best for us, most of us use money and power to have a luxurious life. Sometimes, we want the easy way out and do immoral things. Just like Zacchaeus, we are blinded by material things which is why we do not realize that we are already hurting the people around us. We should always put into our mind and heart that “poverty with Jesus yields a richer and more fulfilling life than extreme wealth without him”. Sometimes the reason why we have unacceptable behavior is because we are desperate for fortune and we lack faith. I also believe that whenever we are in doubt, talk to God. This story made me realize that we are all capable of changing for the better.
