Australia has multiple free trade agreements with numerous countries such as the US, Singapore, Chile and Thailand. They make US$210.7 billion from exports. Their main exports are coal, iron ore, gold, meat, wool, alumina, wheat, machinery and transport equipment. Their main export partners are China (21.81 %), Japan (19.19 %), South Korea (7.88 %), India (7.51 per cent), US (4.95 %), UK (4.37 %), and NZ (4.1%). Livestock and sheep production are important in Australia, Australia is one  of the world's leading exporters of beef and wool. Australia's mineral and agricultural exports are conscious to fluctuations in world-market prices. If Australia wasn't successful with exports, who knows what their country would be like.

The average Australian weekly earning is $1164.60. The average Australian yearly earning is $60,892. When separated from part-time and casual workers, full-time employees make more money, weekly earnings lift up 2.2%. This averages  out to $1,592.40 per week, or $82,804.80 across the year. (picture below) They also have very different laws that are interesting. It is illegal to wear hot pink pants after midday on a Sunday. It is illegal to dress up as Robin and Batman. In Melbourne, it is against the law to vacuum between 10pm and 7am during weekdays, and 10pm and 9am during weekends. It is illegal to leave your car keys inside a vehicle that is unattended. Changing a light bulb can get you into trouble with the law as only licensed electricians are allowed to change a light bulb even if you own the house. It is illegal to walk on the right hand side of a street. Taxi cabs are required to carry a bale of hay in the trunk. Those are just some of Australia’s different laws. 18 and older Australian citizens  are required to vote in federal and state elections. Those who do not vote may be fined. The government respects many freedoms, including religion, speech, press, and assembly, even though some rights are not constitutionally guaranteed. Australia is federal parliamentary democracy that has six states. The six states are New South Wales, Victoria, Queens Land, South Australia, Western Australia, and Tasmania. The queen is the head of states and the prime minister is the head of government. States have power over all matters, except the ones reserved to the society of Australia in the constitution.The nation remains part of  Britain's society and Australia recognizes Queen Elizabeth II as its monarch.. The head of the government is prime minister Malcolm Turnbull. There are three  major political parties, the Australian Labor Party (ALP), the Liberal Party of Australia, and the National Party of Australia. There are many other ones that are listed on the picture below. The federal Parliament has 76 people in their senate, with twelve members from each of the country’s six states and two each from the two territories. The house of representatives consists of 150 people. (picture below of a festival) Australia Day marks the arrival of Europeans to Australia in 1788, and has become an occasion for Australians of all backgrounds to reflect on its heritage, history and growing cultural diversity. There are official activities such as flag raising, citizenship ceremonies and the bestowing of national awards. There is also fireworks or backyard barbecues in a public parks. There are official ceremonies, held everywhere from country towns to capital cities. New citizens are welcomed into the community, and long standing citizens are recognised for their contributions at both local and national Australia Day awards. Each capital city has a festival that is unique. In January it’s the Sydney Festival. In February  it's the National Multicultural Festival, Canberra. In February and March it’s the Perth International Arts Festival. In March it’s the Adelaide Festival of Arts. Also in March the Ten Days on the Island, Tasmania festival. In August it’s the  Darwin Festival. In September there is the Brisbane Festival. In October there is the Melbourne International Arts Festival. There are many other festivals but these are the main ones. (picture below of people coming for gold and immigrants. Indigenous Australians, that were later called Aborigines or Aboriginal Australians, lived in the continent for tens of thousands of years prior to the arrival of Europeans. They lived in hunter-gatherer communities across Australia, most of them nomadic or semi-nomadic. Their hunting tools included boomerangs and spears.One million Aboriginal people lived in Australia when Europeans arrived. Once European colonization began, most of the Aboriginal people died due to foreign diseases, land loss, and conflicts with settlers. After 1770, caption James Cook claimed the eastern coast for Britain. On January 26th 1788, the British established a penal colony at Port Jackson, which now is  Sydney. 
 Other penal colonies were founded in what became Hobart and Brisbane. Many of Australia's early settlers were convicts or soldiers. Sydney's first European settlers arrived in 1788, when English navigator Captain Arthur Phillip's first arrived in Botany Bay to the south.  Of the 1,000 people aboard the fleet's ships, most were British convicts transported to the new land to relieve prison overcrowding. The first free settlers arrived in 1793. When they discovered gold in 1851, the number of free people  immigrating to Australia increased rapidly, and free settlements were established in Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth. In 1901, the continent's six British colonies (New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, and Western Australia) agreed to federate as the society of Australia. Australia's traditional role as a  member of the British Empire, happened  by supplying troops for British conflicts such as the Boer Wars and World Wars I and II. The second half of the 20th century brought a transformation in the ethnic part of Australia. At the end of World War II in 1945, Australians were almost entirely of Anglo-Celtic descent, with 90 % born in Australia. During the 1950s and ’60s, a large influx of immigrants from Greece, Italy, and other European countries began to shape a more multicultural society. Significant Asian migration began in the 1970s. Australia has had a big history and is nothing like it was thousands of years ago.

(picture of art below). For thousands of years, Aboriginal art has portrayed dreamtime ancestors, who created life and the landscape. Rock art, paintings, dances, and musical stories called songlines focus on these creation legends. The Aboriginal didgeridoo is a long wooden musical instrument into which the player blows to produce a distinctive sound. There is no written language for Australian Aboriginal People so in order to convey their important cultural stories through the generations it is portrayed by symbols/icons through their artwork. It is imperative to pass on information to preserve their culture. Indigenous art is centered on storytelling. It is used as a chronical to convey knowledge of the land, events and beliefs of the Aboriginal people. Songs and dances were exchanged often at large ceremonial gatherings when many people gathered together and when trade goods were also exchanged. These gatherings often occurred at a time and place when there was plenty of food. Ceremony is the underlying basis of Indigenous song, music, dance and visual arts. Ceremony contains many significant elements, some of which are specifically related to depicting Dreaming stories. Sometimes these expressions of music, art, song, dance and performance are seen as separate commodities in the Western world. (picture of them below). A key thing of Australian aboriginal belief is Dreaming. At the heart of this is the belief in powerful beings who arose out of the land, created or gave birth to people, plant life and animal life, and connected particular groups of people with particular regions and languages. People are believed to possess spirits which originate from the dreaming. As children grow up they undergo a variety of rites of passage which initiate them into adulthood. Boys would be subjected to practices such as, circumcision, subincision into the urethra, blood letting or tooth pulling. Girls would be ritually decorated, and subject to partial seclusion or food taboos. Totemism was also important to the aboriginal world view. The representation of mythic or living beings was seen to provide the means to access the spiritual powers of the Dreaming.

There are an increasing number of single-parent homes and  stepfamilies. Women still have a lot of the responsibility for the day-to-day life of the family and house, but men are increasingly sharing the work in terms of house chores and raising children. About 59 % of women are in the labor force. It is common to see women employed in all types of work. They generally are considered equal to men, with about the same levels of education, fairly equal wages, and important leadership positions in the private and public sectors.The average family has two or three children, but big families are still common. (picture below of average family and house) The normal  home is a freestanding single-storey house with a yard. Timber and brick are the most common materials. One popular feature is an “outdoor living” area. A living area, dining area, kitchen, bathroom, and multiple bedrooms are found in an average home. New homes often feature an open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area.Home ownership is highly valued; 67 % of Australians own their own homes. Many elderly Australians  live in their own homes or in communities for senior citizens. These homes may be funded by church, government, or community groups, although some are privately owned

The sport cricket is most popular in Australia although many people also enjoy rugby, soccer, basketball, cycling, tennis, lawn bowling, golf, and watersports such as surfing, swimming, and kayaking. Australians love being outdoors, and on weekends it is common to see people at public parks, where family and friends gather to have a barbecue. Popular outdoor recreational activities include fishing, boating, bush walking (hiking), going to the beach, picnicking, and camping. Going to movies is popular, and the Australian movie industry is one of the largest and most successful in the world. A lot of music festivals take place throughout the year, reflecting Australia’s ethnic diversity and joyful approach to life. Australian cuisine is an evolving blend of European and Asian foods. Popular dishes include steak, roast lamb, lamb chops, sausages, french fries (chips), seafood, pasta, and meat pies, but stir-fries and other. Westernized Asian dishes are common too. Dinner may consist of meat, potatoes, vegetables, and salad, followed by dessert which consists of ice cream, fruit salad, pudding and coffee. Australians have a fun and happy way of living.

Schooling is compulsory from ages 6 to 15. Three-quarters of all students complete their secondary education. Following graduation from high school, students can choose from a variety of universities, colleges, or vocational schools.The most common type of vocational school is TAFE (Technical and Further Education), which is a state-sponsored institution found in most urban areas. Generally, the best universities are found in the capital cities of each state. Overall Australia has a pretty decent schooling system even though most kids don't graduate or get degrees.

Australian schools do more than just educate students. They prepare them for life − developing communication skills, self-discipline and respect for themselves, their peers and their world. They also believe strongly in the benefits of a rounded education – including the teamwork, self-expression and personal development that happen outside the classroom.
