One trait of Mama is she's strong (pg 39)

“MAMA enters. She is a woman in

her early sixties, full-bodied and strong. She is one of those women of a certain grace and beauty who wear it so unobtrusively that it takes a while to notice. Her dark brown face is surrounded by the total whiteness of her hair, and, being a woman who has adjusted to many things in life and overcomes many more, her face is full of strength.” from this quote you can see Mama is in her sixties gray hair, but she still looks strong.

One trait of Mama is that she has thoughts on moving into a new house (pg 44)

“Been thinking that we maybe could meet the notes on a little old two-story somewhere, with a yard where Travis could play in the summertime,” from this quote you can see that Mama is tired of living in a dumpy apartment she wants her own house so Travis can have somewhere to play, and so they have more living space.

My thoughts on Mama are that she is strong and a good mom. She wants the best for her family, but they can't afford it and that's why she wants to move out of the small apartment, so they can have their own house and live a better life. Mama is also a very forgiving person because when Walter lost the money she helped him get over it.

This piece of art represents Mama because Mama is a strong and loving mom like the one in the art piece this art piece relates to Mama even more because the mom in the photo is by herself and Mama is now by herself still with her children helping them get through their life and being here for them when they need her.

Her hands held me gently from the day I took my first breath.

Her hands helped to guide me as I took my first step. Her hands held me close when the tears would start to fall. Her hands were quick to show me that she would take care of it all. This quote relates to Mama because Mama helped Walter grow up and become a man and is even there today for when he needs her. This quote also relates to Mama because when it says Her hands helped to guide me as I took my first step in the quote this can be related to Walter and Mama helping guide him through his life.

Mama, you taught me to do the right things. So now you have to let your baby fly. You've given me everything that I will need. To make it through this crazy thing called life. This part of the song relates to Mama because she taught her children the right way to do things and gave them everything they will need thorough life, and she will help them through the challenges that they may face.

The main theme thorough raisin in the sun is dreams vs reality I think this is the main theme because everyone in this story has a dream, but they can't all follow their dream do to they can't afford to or life isn't treating them well, and they just can't follow their dream. Walter to Mama: “What you need me to say you done right for? You the head of this family. You run our lives like you want to. It was your money and you did what you wanted with it. So what you need me to say it was all right for? So you butchered up a dream of mine—you—who always talking ‘bout your children’s dreams.” P. 94,95 this quote shows Walter has a dream to own his own liquor store, but he thinks Mama spent all the money on a new house this relates to the theme I chose because Walter really doesn't like working for other people and his dream is to have his own business but things just don't work out for him
