         <title>What is Usrah ?</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Usrah</strong> (Arabic: أُسْرَة) literally means "family" in Arabic, but in the context of Islamic education, it refers to a small group or circle formed to promote mutual learning, spiritual growth, and moral development among its members.</p><p><br/></p><p>Key Aspects of Usrah:</p><ol><li><p><strong>Purpose:</strong></p><ul><li><p>To foster understanding of Islamic teachings and apply them in daily life.</p></li><li><p>To strengthen bonds of brotherhood (ukhuwah) and collective responsibility within the group.</p></li></ul></li><li><p><strong>Structure:</strong></p><ul><li><p>Usrah usually consists of a small group, often between 5 to 15 members, led by a <em>naqib</em> or <em>naqibah</em> (facilitator/leader).</p></li><li><p>Meetings are held regularly, such as weekly or biweekly, in a comfortable and informal setting like homes, mosques, or online.</p></li></ul></li><li><p><strong>Components of Usrah Sessions:</strong></p><ul><li><p><strong>Taaruf (Introduction):</strong> Strengthening relationships among members.</p></li><li><p><strong>Tazkirah (Reminder):</strong> Sharing Islamic lessons, hadith, Quranic verses, or reflections.</p></li><li><p><strong>Tafsir and Discussion:</strong> Engaging in discussions on Islamic rulings, ethics, or current issues.</p></li><li><p><strong>Closing Du'a (Prayer):</strong> Ending the session with collective prayers.</p></li></ul></li><li><p><strong>Significance:</strong></p><ul><li><p>Encourages personal growth and adherence to Islamic principles.</p></li><li><p>Provides a platform for problem-solving, support, and collective learning.</p></li><li><p>Builds a strong sense of community and accountability</p></li></ul></li></ol>]]></description>

We introduced our names, the mahallah (residence) we stay in, where we are from, and what we like about UIA. We were also asked to create personal nameplates using paper. Qadariyah</p><p><br/></p><p>The Qadariyah movement emphasizes human free will.</p><p><br/></p><p>Beliefs:</p><p><br/></p><p>Humans have complete control over their actions and are responsible for their deeds.</p><p><br/></p><p>God's justice necessitates that humans be free agents to deserve reward or punishment.</p><p><br/></p><p>They reject the idea that God predestines or forces people to commit good or evil.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Criticism:</p><p><br/></p><p>They were accused of undermining God's sovereignty by overemphasizing human freedom.</p><p><br/></p><p>They were eventually considered outside orthodox Sunni beliefs because their views leaned towards an extreme interpretation of free will.</p><p><br/></p><p>---</p><p><br/></p><p>2. Jabariyah</p><p><br/></p><p>The Jabariyah school is the opposite of Qadariyah and emphasizes predestination and God's absolute control.</p><p><br/></p><p>Beliefs:</p><p><br/></p><p>Humans have no free will; everything, including their actions, is predetermined by God.</p><p><br/></p><p>Humans are like puppets or instruments, acting only according to God's will.</p><p><br/></p><p>God's power and sovereignty are absolute, so nothing happens outside His decree.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Criticism:</p><p><br/></p><p>Jabariyah was criticized for negating human responsibility and reducing accountability for actions.</p><p><br/></p><p>This view conflicted with Islamic teachings about reward and punishment in the afterlife.</p><p><br/></p><p>---</p><p><br/></p><p>3. Mu'tazilah</p><p><br/></p><p>The Mu'tazilah is a rationalist theological school that sought a middle ground between Qadariyah and Jabariyah.</p><p><br/></p><p>Beliefs:</p><p><br/></p><p>Belief that God does not force humans to sin, as this would contradict His justice.</p><p><br/></p><p>Heavy reliance on logic and reason to interpret Islamic theology.</p><p><br/></p><p>They also argued that the Qur'an is created (not eternal), to protect God's uniqueness.</p><p><br/></p><p>Criticism:</p><p><br/></p><p>The Mu'tazilah were opposed by traditional scholars and later replaced by more orthodox Sunni theology like the Ash'ari school</p><p><br/></p><ul><li><p>Games : We formed a group and played a drawing game. The last person had to guess the picture that was drawn. The game was themed around the stories of the earlier prophets</p></li></ul><p><br/></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Tadabbur : surah Al hujurat </p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Today's topic : Adab towards neighbour and society</strong></p><p><br/></p><p><strong>WHAT IS NEIGHBOUR ?</strong></p><p>Neighbours are forty houses on each side , as was stated by ash - Shaafa'i</p><p>" The rights of neighbours apply to forty houses like this and like this and like this , and he pointed to the front , to the back , to the right and to the left. " [ Narrated by Abu Dawood ]</p><p><br/></p><p>Here are some ways he demonstrated how to treat neighbors:</p><p>1. <strong>Showing Kindness and Courtesy</strong></p><ul><li><p>The Prophet ﷺ said:<br><strong>"Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should treat his neighbor with kindness."</strong> (Bukhari and Muslim)</p><ul><li><p>Always greet neighbors warmly, help them when in need, and show genuine concern for their well-being.</p></li></ul></li></ul><p>2. <strong>Avoiding Harm</strong></p><ul><li><p>The Prophet ﷺ emphasized avoiding harm to neighbors, saying:<br><strong>"By Allah, he does not believe! By Allah, he does not believe! By Allah, he does not believe! The one whose neighbor is not safe from his harm."</strong> (Bukhari)</p><ul><li><p>This includes refraining from actions like excessive noise, littering, or anything that might disturb their peace.</p></li></ul></li></ul><p>3. <strong>Sharing Food and Resources</strong></p><ul><li><p>The Prophet ﷺ said:<br><strong>"O Abu Dharr, when you prepare a broth, add more water and give some of it to your neighbors."</strong> (Muslim)</p><ul><li><p>Sharing meals or small gifts strengthens bonds and reflects generosity</p></li></ul></li></ul><p>Activities :</p><ul><li><p>wrote down words or quotes and exchanged them with each other</p></li><li><p>A small game: Drawing with a theme of neighbors (the winner is chosen based on voting)</p><p><br/></p></li></ul><p><br/></p><p><br/></p>]]></description>
