Mir Castle, founded at the turn of the 15th-16th centuries, is located in the small Belarusian town of Mir, in the Korelichi district of the Grodno region. Half a century ago, Mir Castle lay in ruins, but at the end of the last century it was restored.

The institution “Mir Castle Complex” Museum was founded on April 1, 2011 and is a museum of republican subordination. Mir Castle in the urban village of Mir is a unique monument of the national culture of Belarus; in 2000 it was included in the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage List according to the following criteria: as an outstanding example of a Central European castle that reflects the gradual change of cultural styles (Gothic, Renaissance , baroque); a visual reflection in the form and appearance of the ensemble of a long history of political and cultural confrontations and interactions.

Inside the Mir Castle you can see 39 exhibitions of historical and cultural content, which tell about past events in this castle. There are armor, installations, paintings, and scenes from life, parks, a pond next to the castle building, the tomb of the princes Svyatopolk-Mirsky, as well as a hotel, 2 conference rooms, a restaurant with a menu of ancient cuisine, and a shop with Belarusian souvenirs. The former citadel and residence of Lithuanian aristocrats invariably impresses travelers with its harmonious and holistic appearance, despite the fact that its architecture intertwined elements of late Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque architecture. Mir Castle is full of charming corners where the atmosphere of past centuries is recreated.

The castle provides excursion services and hosts many thematic excursions to various parts of the complex, for example “Wars of the 20th Century”, “Owners of the Mir Castle” and others. Excursions are conducted in Russian, English and Polish, and it is possible to rent an audio guide. There are also separate history programs for schoolchildren. Festivals, balls, concerts, and theatrical excursions are held here, during which guests are invited to dance in the ballroom with entertainers dressed in ceremonial dresses in 18th-century fashion.
