There is lots of information to learn but it is all valuable. Dr. Evans is such a great professor and is always there to help and encourage you! Even though it may seem overwhelming, don't forget to have fun! This is such a great time to learn and grow!

You're going to love this class and the field experience that goes along with it. It is impactful to provide interventions to kids who need them and watch the progress they have made. You get to know kids on a one-on-one level while actively reviewing class material, it's active learning!

Dr. Evans is so encouraging and supportive, so don't think you'll be alone in this class. Try to stay in the moment and not allow yourself to experience stress that isn't here yet. I had a planner where I had future assignments organized and put down, but I picked what I wanted or needed to focus on at a given moment. That way you don't get as overwhelmed!

It can feeling overwhelming in your first block, after everything that you have had to do, to get here. But, once you start internship, and get to see your students and their progress throughout the semester, the feeling is overflowing with joy. Dr.Evans is a wonderful teacher, and she is very understanding. Don't be afraid to ask for help.

This class isn't scary, it may seem like a lot but it is very manageable. I was stressed and worried about the class, because I didn't remember all of the things I learned when learning Literacy, you will learn everything you need to know! DO The reading guides and the readings they really do help! Dr.Evans had the class set up very helpful and she's very easy to talk to/ approach. Don't stress, don't think about all the assignments, just breath and trust your classmates. My group was so amazing and I hope that you get to be as close as my section did!

You will have an amazing time in this class! It is a lot to learn regarding different words and ways of teaching your students literacy, but by the end you will know it all and be more comfortable with working with your students. It gets overwhelming at times, but you will get through it, all the work pays off! You get to meet some amazing kiddos to work with so its a lot of fun doing everything hands on.

Dear future teacher in LIT 3340,

Congratulations! Welcome to block 1! You may be feeling anxious and wonder what is coming your way. It’s going to sound stressful and sound like a lot but it will all be manageable! Lit 3340 and EDU 3000 are by far my two favorite classes that I have ever taken at App State!! The field experience is a time I will never forget. I learn more than I thought was possible and I had fun doing it! It truly is an enjoyable experience!! Please do not let the praxis exam overwhelm you too much! Allow yourself alloted time to retake it and do not feel ashamed if you need to retake it once or multiple times! It is going to feel like a lot of pressure is on you, but it will always work out in the end!! Best of luck! You will do great!!

If you are a transfer like I am it will feel so overwhelming and you'll not know what you're doing and you won't ask for help but please please do not get intimidated. Dr. Evans truly cares and wants you to succeed. You got this!!

Congratulations on beginning your journey in Block I! I want to say this class will teach you so much and will definitely be a lot different than any other class you've taken here at App. Dr. Evans is such an amazing professor, she is understanding and accommodating; probably the best professor teaching this course, so don't feel scared about this course because she will not let you fail! Dr. Evans believes in you, so you should too!

Dr. Evans is great! Do not be afraid to ask questions or advice. She is always ready to help you. My biggest piece of advice I could give you is to not skip over the readings, Dr. Evans makes sure that the readings are relevant and important, and they often are the basis of what we talk about at the next class. You may feel a little overwhelmed at first but know that everyone in the class is also feeling the same way, and it will all come to you! It is a lot of work but it is so much fun!

Welcome to LIT 3340! This course is so fun, you're going to finally start to feel like a real teacher in this course. This course can seem overwhelming in the beginning, but you'll be okay. Dr. Evans is an amazing instructor who paces the course wonderfully. You will have SO much fun in your field experience FINALLY getting to work with real students, that will seem scary on your first day but you will quickly fall into a rhythm. I hope you have as much fun as I did in this class!

Block one can feel like such an overwhelming time, but if you stay focused and pace yourself, it can be a whole lot of fun. Don't stress about your interventions or your observations, those are the best part of all of block 1! It's important to really pay attention to the materials taught in LIT 3340. The information taught in there is going to help tons with not only your interventions, but also with your professional career as a whole! Dr.Evans is a phenomenal instructor and is super caring and wants you to succeed. You've got it! I know you can do great!

Dear future teacher,

First off, you're amazing! This is not an easy profession and not something that everyone can do, so THANK YOU for being willing to take on a somewhat overwhelming, yet very rewarding task! Block I is a lot of fun! Yes, it does have its challenges, but you will make it through it! This has been my favorite semester so far because finally, most of your classes are oriented to teaching. You get to start writing lesson plans, create activities for your "students" to complete, and most importantly, you get to have a field experience where you are working with students in the classroom at a local elementary school (this was by far my favorite part of the semester :). All of the professors are wonderful and they were so easy to work with! Always remember, you are your own advocate so do not be afraid to reach out if you need anything! Best of luck!!
