A potential strategy is to legislate relatively to alleviate ocean plastic pollution. Firstly, some laws which could stimulate and facilitate recycling plastic products should be published, such as tax exemption of some companies which produce recycling material to reduce the cost. This could lead to the wide use of recycling plastic. In other hand, some punishment of discharging traditional plastic into the ocean. For example, the firms or individuals must clean the ocean if they throw the traditional plastic waste into the sea.

One pragmatic strategy for mitigating the plastic contamination is that use of biodegradable can substitute the traditional plastic. Biodegradable plastic can decompose in a short time. It can minimize the impact of the marine animals.

（Ashley）
One appeopriate strategy to address the ocean plastic pollution may be to introduce container deposit schemes, For instance，some plastic bottles are required to extra charge when customers buy these. Then money will be paid back to custemers when they put the bottles in recycle machine. Although this measure may initially be met with resistance from companies, because this may lead to their prices increase, these things will not happen.

One pragmatic strategy is supervising plastic disposal strictly. This strategy can alleviate plastic pollution in the process of plastic disposal management and recycle. Supervisor can focus on plastic productions sources and destination as well as avoiding them to be discharged into the ocean. Another strategy is supporting degradable material as a replacement for plastic. This is an effective strategy cope with ocean plastic pollution from source, and it can reduce employment costs. Although these measures may cause government economic burden, compared with unachievable pollution control, the overall benefit in terms of the ocean environmental protection is achievable and these strategies can prevent the threat of increasing ocean plastic pollution.
(Jay)

One viable solution is to raise awareness of utilizing reusable bags instead of plastic bags. This can be encouraged by more investments from governments on social marketing company as well as free cloth bags by local councils or even a increased fee of plastic bags by supermarkets. Although the initial funds is a major barrier, the long-term benefits related environment protection and the dissemination of ‘green’ image can justify it. Despite this strategy, there is another compelling solution contributing to the alleviation of ocean plastic pollution.

There are several factors which can lead to the ocean plastic pollution. First of all, current consumers are used to rely on plastic containers and bags due to their convenience and low prices. As a result, manufacturers are encouraged to produce more plastic bags to gain benefits. Because of this cycle, there is a significant amount of plastic garbage produced by citizens while urban authorities can not handle this issue.

A potential strategy is considering alternatives to plastic, such as biodegrable material, paper. As for supermarkets, they could offer free biodegrable packaging instead of plastic bags. It may lead to wide use of biodegrable package to reduce the plastic pollution in the sea. The biodegrable material can degrade in the nature, resulting in less accumulation of plastic in the ocean. Although free biodegrable package may increase the operating costs of market, in the long term, this policy could decrease the ocean plastic pollution.
