Disparity: Universal Coverage

A major disparity that the South Korean health care system faces to this day is regional inequalities with access of care. Known for it's coastal fishing villages, and traditional areas, providing universal coverage is still an issue the South Korean health care system faces. Access to care is still not widely available to 3-4% of the nation. Another disparity the Korean health care system faces is expanding access to the elderly population. South Korea is becoming an aging society faster than most, and taking care of the elderly has been a major family burden in South Korea, due to this, programs are being put in place to address these health care concerns.

Health care in South Korea is both modern and efficient. The quality care and plans that provides access to care is something that we, the United States, can definitely observe and possibly implement into our very own system. Compare to many countries, it is sad to say that our health care system is truly lacking, but it takes more than just talks in order to better it. South Korea, to this day is still a growing nation, but their ability to better their health system for their citizen will benefit in the long run.
