The new article is telling me about the boarding schools in Canada. The article told us about why the boarding schools were made. the news article states in the text "These institutions were designed to kill the Indian in the child by forbidding them to speak their language, which disconnect them from their families and communities". There was an investigation on the schools. There were kids found on the school grounds and an investigation was led by Canada on them self, but the tribe did not want Canada to run the investigation. they only reasons they didn't want them to run the investigation what because they want someone to make sure that it never happens again or to anyone else.

The primary source tells us what kind of case the Natives and the U.S. are going though and the cause and effects of what happened. The causes were that the Western Shoshone Nation of Indians signed a treaty with the United States government over land in Nevada. the text states "The treaty was primarily one of friendship, not land cession (to give up something to someone else)."The US wanted to buy their land for 27 million and they didn’t want to sell it they didn’t want to give up on the land. The effects were the native American continue to fight. The US tried to offer them a huge amount of money. The text states " In 2002, Congress offered the prospect of an increased payment of $140 million to the tribe through the proposed Western Shoshone Claims Distribution Act" So they kept refusing but they continue to fight for ownership of their ancestor’s land in the end the bill was died before it got passed.
