I really hope that through this course I will  get help with deconstructing the art and science of debate for the purpose of gaining instructional clarity and simplicity in my debate classes or activities.

A question:  How many genres of debate are out there? I do not mean types of debate competitions or purposes for debate, but, for example, if we consider sarcasm  a genre in debate, how many other kinds of debate are out there?
