Summary of Chapter 6

In Chapter 6 of Of Mice and Men, George and Lennie meet at the riverbank , same place where the story started. Lennie is hiding there after accidentally killing Curley’s wife. He is scared and imagining things, like his Aunt Clara and a rabbit both telling him that he messed up and that George will be mad at him. When George finds Lennie, he wasn't angry. He, talks to Lennie about their dream of owning a farm, trying to convince him. But lennie gets closer and , George makes a heartbreaking decision. He tells Lennie to look across the river and he quietly pulls out Carlson’s gun. Then, George shoots Lennie in the back of the head and he fell down. After the incident george pretends that lennie had the gun and that he shot himself. Slim tried to understand what george did and he tries to understand and comfort him, while the other people don't really get what happen. This chapter ends with a sad not in my opinion because is showing how lonely and harsh life is during the time and what can happen next.

In chapter 6,readers witness Lennie killing curley's wife and running away.This topic helps us identify that the theme of chapter 6 is "when it comes to loyalty between George and lennie.The theme can be identified when lennie tries to show loyalty and wants to make sure the george has loyalty and they are still gonna be best friends after the incident of lennie and george.After george doesn't show loyalty and kills lennie without any doubt.after he tells all of the boys and everyone end up asking him how he did it and they were also happy but george was sad that he killed his best friends.then george end up being sad and still remembers the things that lennie told him that was"Are you mad george are you gonna get me in trouble please tell me that i will still be able to pet the rabbits and tell me that things you always tell me that if it wasn't cause of me he could get money live in a pet house and then after go work again and do the same thing".

One of the main characters in chapter 6 Of Mice and Men is Lennie small.We first see lennie at the beginning, waiting by the riverbed,waiting for george to come back and feeling anxious and was thinking of his actions and consequences of him killing curley's wife and kneeling by the water to drink.Then george comes to see Lennie small and george was sad because he knew what he had to do kill him before he gets killed by the boys.While Lennie Small he is telling george to get him in trouble like always and he is insisting to say the same thing that if wasn't because of him lennie small george life would be better he will have more money and better job.Then lennie will say then i will leave and then george will say not that is okay then lennie tells george if he could still pet the rabbit and george says yes then lennie turns and george pulls the gun out and kills him.One of the most important quote is "No, Lennie, I ain't mad. I never been mad, an' I ain't now. That's a thing I want ya to know." - This is the last thing that George ever says to Lennie before he kills him.This all happens at the end of the chapter in page 194 to 107
