Therefore, we had to come up with gestures for specific and maybe difficult concepts, such as "Scanning" and "skimming". Also, we tried to articulate and gesture the numbers so they would understand the instructions for the activity. 
Furthermore, the scaffolding we would do is importante so they would not only understand the instructions but, in fact, they would be able to do the activity step by step. We focused our scaffolding on the claims done by Wood, Bruner & Ross (1976), in which they posit that the tutor's tasks are:

1.“Lure” the child into actions that produce solutions and create interest.
2.Reduce alternative movements / reduce size of the task 
3.Keep learners in pursuit of the objective and goal orientation 
4.Mark critical features (“Notice the gap between what you have produced and correct production”)
5.Frustration control
6.Demonstration / modelling solutions.

Tip: Always intend to articulate your speech so everyone could understand, and gestures can make a big difference in comprehension.

Every day we encounter instructions that we have to follow; such as STOP or the crosswalk; thus, we know the importance of following them.  That is why, we as teachers or “instruction-givers” have to be careful about the directions that we give to our students, the way we give them and how they are received. Therefore, we must give instructions always thinking on our students English level, so then, we think on the complexity of words that we can use to explain them. I had myself a reminder of this reality when in year 2015 started to take classes of german in the PALE program of this university. The first teacher we had for A1 level spoke absolutly everything in german, and we couldn't understand any of his explanations. I left the class frustrated and unmotivated. I never forgot how I was trying to guess from his tone of voice, the movement of his hands, the ways he looked, something that could tell me a clue about what he was saying. Now, everytime I stand in front of a class, I try to imagine they are myself and I'm that german teacher, so I would do anything in my hands to acompany my words with gestures, speaking pace, draws, diction, writing, body language so I can help them to understand.
