In this video Rita Pierson talks about how educators are more than just teachers; they are also parents, family, coaches, mentors etc. She explains that it takes a 'village' to raise and educate a child. Watching this video taught me that not all children have the luxury of a supporting community around them and it is my duty to ensure that all my students know they have me rooting for them and willing to help them succeed. This relationship between my student and I will be crucial to their success in the classroom.

This is a video of my teaching philosophy. I thought this was important to put on my page because it is important to stay true to your beliefs. It is easy as a teacher to fall into the regimen of your colleagues even if you disagree with their style because "that's just the way it is"
I want this here to emphasize that what you find important should be immerse in your classroom because it is what makes you a unique teacher!

The relationship you have with them can help aid in the communication to identify and solve any content issues.

Some concepts in health can be a bit controversial and I want to improve my communication to ensure students feel safe to share information and their ideas with me. I want my relationships with students to through in my health class. I believe sharing personal stories will help students picture me more as a person they can talk with rather than just their teacher.
