The system during Tom Robinson's case were not at the best of the times. As the justice system was still highly racist and corrupt. He wasn't given the same rights or options as any other person in that courtroom because of his race. The people still hadn't seen the wrong in their ways. As now system represents everyone in an equal manner, and named innocent until proven guilty. Evidence now is looked upon with a higher importance as it is the key to every case. Our justice system is different and more fair than it was in To Kill a Mockingbird. The system now doesn’t go based off the color of ones skin, as in the system that served Tom Robinson it did. There is always going to be a certain level of racism no matter where or what is happening. It just happens to be that the racism isn’t as severe in the courthouse now  than it was in the story. Tom Robinson should have been innocent unless evidence proved otherwise, he shouldn’t have been proven guilty just based off the color of his skin.

Our justice system has evolved over time and is just and fair to the people.We live in an era where people are not judged by they’re skin color as much as they were before. Of course some people still judge that way but for the most part our justice system judges based on ones actions . Whether they be innocent or guilty they’re color does not make a difference. In the book it did because  he was colored they judged him based from that which made it unfair on his part.Sadly that’s how the justice system was back then before they had the rules and allegations we have today. The justice sistem is more fair becuase back then in the times of Tom Robinson there was a lot of discrmination back then. Now people are not killed because one person accused another they get killed, they have to be 100% sure that it was that person committed the crime, and even then they don't kill people anymore. We are now in the twenty first century, but yet we still have problems with the government  we have not reached the point where everything is fair and justice is in every corner. Some people are still being treated like as if they are worth less thanothers and that is not fair, this might lead to a point to where history repeats itself once again. There has been signs that this just might be true.
