I believe that remembering that a good night's sleep with missing assignments is more beneficial than staying up to study. I'm an academically oriented student athlete and I'm often reminded that this is just middle school, life moves on.

Don't go to bed hungry. I often miss dinner, doing schoolwork or showering because softball postpones all else. Going to bed hungry distracts the mind and body. From now on I will not disregard the importance of a good meal

Using your bed for anything but sleeping will have the brain correlate the bed with a variety of things, like in my case painting my nails or doing math work or even watching television on my iPad. If I begin to only sleep in my bed, my brain will correlate only sleeping with my bed.
