His most famous novels are Animal Farm and Nineteen eighty-four, both written in late 1940s. In those works he talks about totalitarianism, especially Stalinism, and about how bad it is. 
     Eric grew up with his mother and sisters, without seeing his father for the most of his childhood. The family moved to Shiplake before World War I. There, Eric became friend with the Buddicom family, especially with Jacintha Buddicom. They were used to spending time reading poetry and hopping to become famous writers. At that time, he liked as well fishing and watching birds with Jacintha's brother and sister. When he was five, Eric was sent to a convent school with Marjorie. It was a Catholic convent. His mother wanted him to go to public school, but his family was not rich enough to pay for it. Ida's brother, Charles Limouzin, was asked to help find the best school for Eric. He suggested St Cyprian's School in Eastbourne, Sussex. Limouzin, who was a good golfer, got to know the school and its headmaster at the Royal Eastbourne Golf Club, and that helped convincing the headmaster helping Eric’s family win the scholarship that let them pay his education. However, Blair hated the school.
     Orwell fought in the Spanish Civil War with the antifascist troops.
