         <description><![CDATA[<div>High Body Fat Linked to Possible "Brain Shrinkage": <br><br>The article is about research that showed that body fat can possibly affect some aspects of the brain such as communication among many. The researchers did a magnetic resonance to two women of the same age the first had a body mass of 13% and the second a body mass of 49%. Magnetic resonances show lower volumes of gray matter in the central areas of the brain of the participant with 49% body fat compared to that with 13% body fat. <br><br>In my opinion this article I liked a lot because they gave all the necessary information to make us understand what they were saying and also because it is very interesting the fact that all our lives our parents and relatives and even friends have told us that we have to eat healthy because we could get fat and now it turns out that this does not affect only our figure and our digestive system but it can also affect our nervous system.<br><br></div>]]></description>

Gamma waves are the fastest of brain waves and relate to the simultaneous processing of information from different brain areas.          <description><![CDATA[<h1>"Scientists locate brain area where value decisions are made"</h1><div><br></div><div>  An area of the brain called the retrosplenial cortex, or RSC  <br>which is the area of ​​the brain where the most important decisions are made,  <br>This area contains more than 500 neurons that are analyzed in animals to see the reaction that occurs when you make a decision, but not decisions like those that are easily solved rather difficult decisions to take from the most basic where is to take a caafe or with whom to go when your parents separate. <br><br>results: The research team imaged more than 500 neurons across six brain regions in mice. The resulting data trove of more than 45,000 records allowed them to compare how value-related information is processed in each brain area.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Eating while being stressed could mean extra weight gain.<br><br>A study that has been made with mice, proves that eating while being stressed especially high-calorie meals  leads to more weight gain than eating while, your not stressed, the investigators found that the stressed mice that ate the healthy chow showed no difference in body weight compared with unstressed mice. However, the stressed mice that ate high-calorie food gained more weight than the nonstressed mice that ate the same, high-calorie food. Researchers found that this difference was, in part, because the stressed mice ate a lot more than their chill counterparts.   Even though this study was conducted in mice, since mice and humans use the same NPY system to regulate these processes, the situation is "very likely the same in humans," </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div> </div><h1>Electrical Stimulation Makes Old Brains Act Young Again </h1><div> A short session of brain zapping can reverse some of the effects of aging in older adults, a new study suggests. Some researchers  recruited 42 adults ages 20 to 29 and 42 older adults ages 60 to 76 and made them compete in a memory game. The adults from 20-29 won the first round, but after the experiment the elder people did better and kind of tied with the younger people.          <description><![CDATA[<div> </div><h1>Broccoli sprout compound may restore brain chemistry imbalance linked to schizophrenia </h1><div><br>The idea of this study was to characterize the chemical imbalances in the brains of people with schizophrenia that are related to the chemical glutamate. This study was created with results of other studies made on animals and people. The article talks about how they found a way to tweak the level using a compound derived from broccoli sprouts. Schizophrenia is known for producing hallucinations, delusions and disordered thinking, feeling, behavior, perception and speaking on people. 🤬 used to treat schizophrenia don't work completely for everyone, and they can cause a lot of bad side effects. The results show that in the future supplementing with broccoli sprout extract, that has high levels of the chemical sulforaphane, maybe someday will provide a way to lower the doses of antipsychotic medicines used to manage schizophrenia symptoms.<br><br>In my opinion this studies may in the future bring a better quality of life not only to people with schizophrenia but also family members and doctors who have to deal with taking care of schizophrenics every day. This Protein May Be the Key </h1><div><br>The article speaks about  Chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) that is a illnes from the brain that is caused by repetitive traumas in the zone of the head, and that could only be diagnosed after death with an autopse, but some scientists just dicovered  a way to diagnose it with the person being alive.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Elderly Woman Plays Nintendo DS to keep her brain sharp.<br> </div><div>A report last week suggested that to ward off brain diseases such as Alzheimer’s, constant cerebral stimulation through activities like games and reading could be the key. And one woman, 100-year-old Kathleen Connell, would certainly appear to back up such findings, with the centenarian putting her longevity and sharp mind almost entirely down to her Nintendo DS gaming device.<br><br></div><div><br>Kathleen, who jokingly says she doesn’t feel a day over 80, clearly loves her Nintendo machine, describing it as “great” and “absolutely super.”<br><br></div><div><br>She can be found on the hand-held device most days, pausing only to put the kettle on for a cup of tea before packing up at around 10pm when, she says, her brain starts feeling “a bit addled.”<br><br></div><div><br>Kathleen, who lives in East Renfrewshire in Scotland, said that the machine helps her memory stay in good shape, as she used to have trouble remembering things.<br><br></div><div><br>One thing she’s particularly proud of is the mental age she scored with the popular Brain Trainer game—just 64—pretty impressive for someone now in triple figures. Other games she enjoys playing include Scrabble, My Word Coach, Art Academy and Family Fortunes.<br><br></div><div><br>Last week researchers at the University of California claimed to have found a <a href="http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/health/2012/01/23/brain-games-may-help-thwart-alzheimers-study/">connection</a> between activities that stimulate the brain and levels of a kind of protein that is believed to cause Alzheimer’s, a disease marked by dementia and memory loss.
