According to Mandy Barrow (2014) the name England is more often than not the wrong way to refer to the whole United Kingdom, of which the former is nothing but a part. Besides that, each country has different traditions, for that reason the term " English" is used wrongly if we want to refer to all four countries.

The UK's official language is English, but other native languages like Welsh, Scottish Gaelic and Gaelic are also spoken. In addition to these, some other non-european languages such as Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati and Punjabi are spoken by minorities, which is a proof of the country's multiculturalism.

From 1976 to 2016, the U.K. was a member of the European Union (EU).
