And the bows and arrows they used were made out of sticks, rope, and feathers. They would make fires with wood, grass, and rocks. The women would make dresses for the girls and them self with buffalo hides. They helped their mothers go into the woods and collect nuts, berries, and water. There was also time for the children to play games and have fun but they did not play the video games we have today that were not even invented yet.

Many Native Americans shared the same farming and hunting methods but they were not one big nation. They are different in how they dress, the languages they spoke, and the customs and traditions they practiced. The people of the plains lived in houses that suited their lifestyle and environment. You might think that you spell a tp like T.P. but no you actually spell it Tipis or Teepees. Sign language allows the tribes to speak to each other. They used signs or motions with their hands and arms which represents words and messages. People could only travel short distances back then because wherever they went they had to walk. A trick known as the buffalo jump caused hunting to have much success. They would make a V-shaped pathway that led towards a cliff, then they shot burning arrows in the grass around the path. The fires frightened the animals to the narrowing path. And sometimes hunters wore wolf skins frightening the buffalo into a stampede. The buffalo then ran at full gallop over the cliff.
