Ralph Waldo Emerson outlines what the transcendentalism movement means in his book "Reliance." He argues that society's biggest problem at the time was conformity. While that was 80 years, I think today's biggest issue in society is the criminal justice system. People get wrongly accused all the time and that's the problem with the final decision coming down to one judge and also a jury of people who don't wanna be there. If the deffendent can't afford a proper attorney they will often be given a bad attorney. In a courtroom, money is truely the best argument.

This quote from "Walden" by Thoreau is basically saying if someone is not doing what everyone else is, it's because they have a different way of doing it. This is a powerful way to express one's self which is why I will mention that I write my nines and fours different from everyone. In recent years there has been a youtube creator named Ben Levin who has really pushed the limits of what it means to be a musician. I think he is a good example of someone who follows their own drummer, and maybe because of that, he has attrached an audience.

Thoreau outlines in this quote the most efficient way of living life to a transcendentalist. Focusing on one goal at one time and not stopping until it is achieved is what he mentions. He also states that as you drop all other small goals, the one goal will become much easier. For me, I could easily state that I want to be a famous musician or something. But the truth is that I want to live a life of comfort off of doing something that doesn't feel like trivial work. The best example would be making music because I can make money off of that but I also like doing it.

If I were to pull a Thoreau and spend a good amount of time in the wilderness, I would for sure go to Bikini Atoll. That's the island that Spongebob is based on. It was also a nuclear testing ground which forced all the natives out of there and also contaminated the water and soil. I know it sounds like this would be a terrible place to try and survive but this is great because there's a chance I find a fish that is brutally mutated to be more nutritious. I could also bring clean water with me which would leave me with both food and water. Obviously, I would still need shelter but that's why I would let Teofil Rapach know before I leave. He is an extreme survivalist and would likely give me tips and or tools to bring with me.

"The Road Not Taken" by Robert Frost is a poem that I have personally read many of times. It is about the speaker making a choice that he regrets. For me this choice is similar to when I decided to keep all my quarters instead of giving them away. Before Febuary of this year, whenever I bought something I would put all the change in the tip/charity jar. Now I do the same thing except I keep all the quarters. I plan to do this every year and cash in all the quarters on new year's day. So far I have a really good amount and I have even started to keep track of any rare quarters I have. This simple decision that I made in Febuary has probably made me around 30 dollars at this point.

This is definitely a dumb answer but I think the show "Clarence" displays some transcendentalism qualities. All episodes of Clarence pretty much just follow the adventures of Clarence and his friends. The character Clarence is definitely different from the other characters and he's also the main character. This shows the transcendental belief of being yourself. The show also explores nature a lot especially in the episode "Tree of Life". Clarence is really just a transcendentalist because he's a little kid who's not afraid to be himself.
