    Broward has made news this year for a few bouts of disruptive student behavior this year. Last week, J.P Taravella went on lockdown when a student brandished a toy gun on campus. In October, an officer thwarted a potential school shooting by detaining a teen armed with a loaded 9 mm gun at Coral Springs High.
