Uncloistered meaning not sheltered; he was involved with the outside world. Mere meaning he is no better that a fish out of water.

He loved hunting and not everyone had the chance to hunt or have a horse so this shows he was wealthy.

The priest in the tv show ¨La casa de la risa¨ he is a great example because he is always saying bad words and saying stuff a priest wouldnt really say or do like the monk.
