How does poetry influence a person’s connection to the world around them?

There's many ways poetry can influence a person's connection with the world. Such as it can connect personally, physically, and emotionally. First I'm going to start with the 'Personally.' So, yesterday I was listening to a poem on my phone and this girl was talking about how parents were right about "It was those D*mn phones" And she was saying that "We wouldn't be in this place, dark deep down, life would be smoother if we just listened to you" And she went on about how the phones have destroyed you and everyone as a person. I can connect to that personally because I use my phone way to much to the point I forget that I have a family downstairs wanting to see me, I get so glued to an electronic that I can't even describe myself in a good way. Another way I connected to that personally is because I see things on the internet that makes me want to be them, such as famous people I see them a lot on social media and I turn my life to want to be them and not to be myself how everyone should be, that's why I think poems can connect to people personally.

There's many ways poetry can influence a person's connection with the world. Such as it can connect personally, physically, and emotionally. Second I'm going to talk about how it can connect to a person 'Physically.' Such as there is poems that people write about that hits them physically deep, like the videos we were watching in class when the person was talking about his dead sister you can feel that physically because of the movements and the tone in his voice, this also could be emotionally but this one hit me physically because it's about someone you care about and love die, I have a connection to that because of personal reasons. Another reason I can connect to it and other people can is if it's talking about physical pain such as breaking an ankle or tearing a muscle people can just feel the pain even if they haven't experienced the pain before our if they have they can relate to it, that's why my second reason is that people can connect physically to poetry.

There's many ways poetry can influence a person's connection with the world. Such as it can connect personally, physically, and emotionally. Finally, I'm going to talk about how poems can connect to a person 'Emotionally.' A reason someone can connect to it emotionally is when the poem is about a death or it hits them in the hear deep that they don't know what to say or do about the information they go from listening to it or reading it. Such as if it's talking about a death of an animal or a person, even if you didn't know the person a normal person will get hit with a deep wave of emotionality, such as when we were watching the second video in class it was this girl talking about a daughter and she was saying things like "she will call me point B" and we didn't know if she had a daughter that died or if she wanted one so for some people it might've hit them deep because there is people in the world with experience about things like that. Another thing is if you watch or hear something that catches you off guard it can hit you with anger or sadness or and other emotion, so that's why I think poems can hit you emotionally, physically, and personally.

My poems I wrote, connected me to the world because my first poem is about blankness and someone can relate to that physically or personally, and it made it to a personal one because it's about blankness and a loss of thoughts and I have that a lot during classes. My second poem was about the color blue and it was just talking about one of my favorite colors that I like and it connected me to the world physically. And my last poem was about growing up and that hit me personally because of it's apart of life and brought me memories I forgot about.
