When I was younger, I loved and enjoyed making art, it did not matter to me if it looked good or bad, what mattered was the emotions that came with it. I used to draw my family together, and draw my parents on Mother’s and Father’s day. As I grew older, making art started to become a competition on who is faster at improving, who makes better art, and who is more skilled. When I found the internet, I saw there are more wonderful artists who are on a different level. It made me see that improving takes hard work and time is a factor that is always present. It made me reflect and realize that trying so hard to get better than everyone and being on top wasn’t worth it at all, it might make you feel nice to be up there but when you look around… you’re all alone, because there’s only one #1. I’ve learned to learn and improve at my own pace because you cannot rush time, you can’t fit a year’s worth of improvement and progress into 2 months, so instead I want to focus on putting emotions and meanings to the art I create.
