I feel like Pi's philosophy of practicing 3 religions simultaneously is interesting in the fact that he refuses to give up on his beliefs and asks to partake in the different practices of each religion. The concept of loving god is the same for all 3 religions-- it's just who god is and how you love them is different. Pi sees past that and just wants to love god for who he is, which is intriguing to me cause I have never seen anything like it

Why take so much time to list out the animals, the procedures, and all that went into shipping them out? I feel that it was supposed to add the effect of time feeling stretched, of feeling like much needed to packed into a small amount of time, or in this case, text. However, it didn't quite work for me, at least. It felt like an odd bit out from the rest of the book, which was engaging and quicker-paced.

Because I knew this story was going to be a crazy one, but how are you going to say "this story has a happy ending" and not expect me to go into a spiral of emotions. It struck me just how harsh they were towards one another, and how, at the core, that doesn't accurately represent the beliefs of any of them. All are built on ideas of love and tolerance, so their ripping and tearing at the lives and religions of the others made me think a lot. I personally believe in just one God, but this got me thinking about just how far tolerance goes within a religion of love.
