De blev lavet omkring år 400 e.kr. Man fandt først det korte horn i 1639 ved Gallehus nær Mølgetønder i Sønderjylland, og det korte horn i 1734. Guldhornene blev stjålet og omsmeltet i 1802.

I digtet taler både guder og normale folk. Guderne synger om, hvilken gave det er, og at de skal respektere værdien ved at have dem. Samtidig er der de her arkæologer, som prøver at finde guldhornene.

De udgør emnet for Adam Oehlenschlägersdigt af samme navn. Hornene blev fundet vedGallehus ved Møgeltønder i henholdsvis 1639 og 1734. I 1802 blev de stjålet og omsmeltet, men efter tegninger er der senere lavet kopier som blev udstillet på Nationalmuseet. Disse kopier blev stjålet fra en udstilling i Jelling den 17. september 2007 og genfundet. De er i dag udstillet på Nationalmuseet i København.

De blev lavet omkring år 400 e.kr. Man fandt først det korte horn i 1639 ved Gallehus nær Mølgetønder i Sønderjylland, og det korte horn i 1734. Guldhornene blev stjålet og omsmeltet i 1802.

I digtet taler både guder og normale folk. Guderne synger om, hvilken gave det er, og at de skal respektere værdien ved at have dem. Samtidig er der de her arkæologer, som prøver at finde guldhornene.
