But some people want to hurt the earth, to hurt the world and themselves. The thoughts infect and spread and multiply like some sort of virus. It damages our homes, tears down our trees, pollutes our rivers and destroys the delicate balance of nature that keeps us all going.

But, if you reach out, if you really truly try to reach to those people, their hearts, black and withered from pain and hate, will bloom open like a million tiny flowers and they will grow once more under the light of the sun.

          

So maybe, just maybe, the reason the earth dies, the reason we die, is because of our cruelty, our greed, our hatred of others. And maybe, just maybe, if we reach out our hand, we might get a hold back, and the world will grow once more under the light of the sun.”

I wrote this to explain our relationship with the wild. If we hurt ourselves, we hurt others, and we damage the part of the earth that was once you. The moral of this is maybe if we are all just a bit nicer, no matter sexual preference, race gender, abilities or religion, we might even be able to save the wilderness from the corruption of mankind.
