Wolves are complex, highly intelligent animals who are caring, playful, and above all devoted to family.
Wolves communicate through body language, scent marking, barking, growling and howling. When a wolf wants to demonstrate subservience to another wolf, it will squat, whimper, tuck its tail, lick the other wolf's mouth, or roll onto its back. When a wolf wants to challenge another wolf, it growls or puts its ears on its head. A playful wolf dances and bows. Barking is used as a warning and howling is for long distance communication to bring a pack together and keep strangers away.

Wolves live in packs. Most packs have four to nine members, but the size can range from as few as two wolves to as many as 15. A pack can grow to 30 members, until some individuals break off to find new territory and form your own pack. The alpha male is dominant over the entire herd, both males and females. The female and the alpha male are the only ones that reproduce. When young adults reach the age of three, they may join the herd or set off in search of their own territory. Wolves typically mate for life. Wolves become pregnant for about 63 days and usually give birth to four to six pups. Wolf pups are usually born in a den. At birth, they cannot see or hear and weigh about a pound. The mother wolf moves her pups to new dens every two months until fall, when the pack stops living in dens. In the wild, wolves live 8 to 13 years, sometimes more. In captivity, they live up to 15 years.

In general, an eagle is any bird of prey more powerful than a buteo.
