In my own opinion, use of social media is just to relieve stress and where you can just spend your time if you're bored or what. And if you are using social media, don't judge what others are posting or sharing in their own timeline. We both share memes when we are entertained by it and do post about our friend’s upcoming birthdays and events. Which is the right thing to do, because people nowadays posts everything even if it isn’t necessary for them.
