GES has taken much consideration from their young students and combined that with teacher passion to create the first go round of their prototypes.

A couple prototypes will be done school wide:
* They will begin to implement a before school and during school coach/mentor/tutoring time. They will also be taking a portion of the middle of the day and allowing the students to make choices in their planning of lunch, recess, and mentoring for support. They are focusing on student success skills and helping students to make choices that have a positive impact. Data notebooks and mentoring are also involved as well in a separate prototype!!
* The second school wide prototype involves novel studies. For 30 minutes of the day, students will select the novel study group they want to participate in. This will combine 4th and 5th grade students as well as let the students have choice in their literacy.

The end of the school day will have a variety of prototypes going on in each classroom. After trying the prototypes out for a quarter, the staff will be able to share pros and cons and decide what pieces to implement as it relates to the four principles. Check it out!

Ready to find purpose and passion through learning, Wakefield is off to a great start with schoolwide and individual prototypes prepared for flight over the next month.

Secondary Prototypes:
* 50% Assignments- in order to encourage students to turn in their work, students who turn in an assignment will receive a minimum of 50% credit. We are trying to impact the effort set forth and not have students digging a deep hole with 0% for not completing tasks.
* Community Website- Mrs. Dumler, Mrs. Fowler and the City of Wakefield is ready to combine efforts to work on the community website!

Schoolwide:
* Wednesday Soft Starts- This is a time for the "flight crews" to work together, mentor each other, have family-style discussions, team building etc. Also involved is a mentor advisory program. The entire time on this morning is setting the stage for building self-management, self efficacy, and support for our students success skills.

Classroom Prototypes:
* We have a variety of individual classroom prototyping various project based learning, standards base grading, zones of regulation and a self management elective.

CCCMS Prototype Update January 2019

CCCMS will roll out a few school wide prototypes during the week of January 14th.

The first school-wide prototype will be passionately called Power Hour. During the middle of the day, students will make choices and select between lunch, attending teacher office hours for assistance, physical movement, and other such items. This is an open time for the students to build their student success skills and also focus on time management, prioritizing, etc. They have a few options, but will go with option 1 to start with if you see the attached action plan.

The other school-wide prototype will be an additional PAWS time to end the day. The last 10 minutes will be PAWS. The morning PAWS will remain focused on team-building, relationship building, and on Monday's a weekly focus on goals. The afternoon PAWS is a time to check in on our goals, prioritizing for the week. This provides a check in and check out for our students.

Both of these two school-wide prototypes are directly connected to student surveys and the needs they are expressing.

CCCMS also has some pocket prototypes going on in a variety of grade levels and classrooms. After trying a few out, the staff will be able to share them with the team and make future decisions and progress with their design thinking. Their action plans are attached.
