I'm Anneyda Alejo, and I am a dedicated Foreign Language teacher with over ten years of experience in the public sector. I currently teach at Félix Antonio Rodríguez High School, where I work with students in both the first and second cycles. Additionally, I am part of the Language School at the Universidad Tecnológica del Cibao Oriental (UTECO), where I contribute to the training of future language professionals.

I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics for English Language Teaching at the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo. This program allows me to deepen my understanding of language pedagogy, enhancing my teaching methods and improving the learning experiences of my students.

I am passionate about fostering an engaging and effective learning environment, and I am committed to helping my students achieve their language goals.

I first studied English at Rojas Institute in La Vega, then in the English immersion program.

When it comes to my degree, it’s Education in Foreign Languages at UAPA.

My first teaching experience was when I was 16 years old, teaching at the institute where I used to study.

And after that I had the opportunity to be part of two private catholic schools, Colegio Cardenal Sancha (2017-2019) and Colegio Inmaculada Concepción (2019-2022).

In April of 2022 I was able to enter the public education system and I still teach at CEFODIPF since then.

I decided to enter this master in order to grow and learn in the teaching of a foreign language field, and I already feel that since my first day, I learned a lot and changed my perspective in some topics.

And of course, I know this subject won’t be the exception. Let’s learn a lot!

I worked for many years in private schools, in 2019 I graduated, then in 2021 I took part in the competition.

I work in a primary school in the second cycle.

This master's degree is an opportunity to open other doors in my life. I would like to learn enough to be able to apply all knowledge acquired in order to be part of the educational transformation of this country.

I hope to improve in all aspects of my career.

I started my English education at the age of 18 years old. Being honest I wasn't very interested in english. My father always encouraged me to study it, but it wasn't until i enrolled in a english immersion program that i truly engaged with this language, and eventually decided to pursue it as a professional carrear.

I got a degree in Modern Language with a focus on Education from University Nordestana. I have three years of experience teaching English in a primary school located in a rural area, where I have the opportunity to work with students from diverse backgrounds. This experiences every years help me to adapt my teaching methods to each necessity.

One of my biggest challenges as an educator has been addressing the lack of technological resources in my teaching environment. This limitation has pushed me to be more creative.

With this class, I hope to develop new skills in english languages teaching more effectively. My professional goal is to continue advancing and improving my knowledge as an educator.

I studied modern languages at UAPA university. I also studied in English immersion program in 2015. One of my goals is improve my language skills or acquire real-world experience in my area of expertise.

I am a professor at the UTECO's University in the area of ​​computer science and I teach the basic English of the degree.

My name is Wandy Yoel Santana, and I hold a degree in Modern Languages from UASD University in San Francisco de Macorís. I teach primary and secondary students at Las Tres Bocas Primary School in Cotuí. I have two years of experience in the education system and my experience is focused on young learners, and I enjoy finding ways to keep them engaged and motivated.

One of my biggest challenges is adapting to the diverse needs of my students while staying updated on effective teaching methods. Through this class on Theories of Second Language Acquisition, I aim to enhance my skills in language teaching and work towards becoming a more effective educator.

I have been teaching since 2019, which amounts to five years of experience. I currently work at Olinda Grullón García, located in Angelina where I reside. I teach English and French to students in the third and fourth grades. I previously taught fifth grade, but no longer do. My initial teaching experience was at Nordestana University as a requirement to pass a course. After completing my degree, I began giving private English lessons to children and also worked as a translator of official documents from English to Spanish.

On September 1, 2019, I began my career in the public education system at the age of 22. Working as a teacher has been an incredible experience, although it demands nearly all my time and can be quite stressful.

I have been eagerly anticipating this opportunity to start this master's program since joining the public education system. I am grateful to be part of it. My goals for this program include learning extensively about educational theories, methodologies, and other relevant topics, as well as enhancing my English skills through reading books and articles, making presentations, and engaging in discussions on scientific research.

I'm Ariandy, a graduate student from UAPA, 2016. I have always loved this beautiful language, in fact since I was a kid but started my learning journey in 2010 in the Immersion Program. After that year I noticed I liked to help others learn as well, and that's how I made some adjustments and quit a Marketing major and changed to Education in Foreign Languages.

Soon after, I became an English teacher for the Immersion Program at ITECO (back then), Colegio Santa Teresa and Dominico Americano in Santo Domingo Este. I joined the

Public System in 2022, and I'm currently working with teenagers (secondary school).

I did not have the opportunity of pursueing any higher education because I decided to work and take care of my family first. And I'm so glad I waited until the right moment, because even though my reality has not changed, I'm able to balance family, work and this master's program much better.

One never stops learning, and I'm always willing to keep on doing so. It's a pleasure and privilege to be here, learning from my colleagues and the wonderful professors that come our way.
