Why get vaccinated? The main purpose of vaccination is to generate an “artificial” immune response against a specific pathogen, without letting it come into direct contact with the body. This allows you to develop an effective defense. We’ve opened our eyes to vaccines especially after the pandemic, we’ve seen how the death rate of COVID has dropped after getting vaccinated, we’ve seen how serious COVID was when vaccines didn’t exist yet. Of course, to achieve successful vaccinations, you need to vaccinate as many people as possible. Without vaccines, the risk of certain diseases re-emerges.In the last century, vaccinations have made it possible to radically change the state of health of populations around the world. Thanks to them, deaths and disabilities have been avoided with an impact comparable to the availability of drinking water. I believe, however, that a further communication campaign is needed, to raise awareness and disseminate more knowledge about vaccines, I notice a certain ignorance on this topic, due to the lack of knowledge of the scientific subject.

I thought about what could make them feel good , and I was thinking about what I would have done to make them feel better, to ease the disease and the suffering, at the same time I found myself watching the film Patch Addams, a film that talks about this crazy doctor who treated the diseases starting with a smile, putting the person first , and there I understood that I wanted to do this in life, not just think about treating illness, but taking care of the illness, to leave a lighter memory of a dark period. Later I became an aunt, and this prompted me to choose the specializing degree course in pediatric nursing, to have a solution to any problem that will face in life and to also be a bit of an aunt to all those children who will give me a glimpse into course of my career.

I would like to become a clinical tutor in the future because I believe that there are unfortunately tutors around who put the wrong thoughts on today's female students.

Before becoming a nurse you have to want it inside your heart and to practice this profession you have to love it with all the strength you have, otherwise it's not even possible to think to be a nurse.

This is a job that takes a lot away from a lot, and in order to teach students you need to feel good about yourself first and foremost. I would like to teach because I would probably see myself in all the students who cross my path, I would not forget what I went through and what they are going through, I will always keep in mind a student's commitments and how important it is that their desire, their curiosity, their energy will never go out, and I will love them, because their achievement will also have been a bit of satisfaction and thanks to me.

It takes a lot of courage and a lot of responsibility to become a nurse but it takes three times as much to become a clinical tutor, you no longer only have your future and your life in your hands but you also have the life of a teen that of a boy, and any wrong word could make him stumble over his life and his choice.

Secrets of a long life

The text talks about how on the Japanese island of Okinawa people live longer than anywhere else in the world, with an average life expectancy of 81.2 years. And they don't just live longer, they live better.

So what is Okinawa's secret? The focus on lifestyle is very important.

Okinawans have a traditional diet based on soy, fruits and vegetables. Consume lots of fish, such as tuna, mackerel and salmon, which are rich in omega-3 fatty acids and help reduce the risk of heart disease and breast cancer. Many Okinawan elders also live by the motto and also monitor portion sizes.

Elderly Okinawans enjoy walking, gardening and practicing Tai Chi, and often work long after the retirement age expected in Western countries. Interviews with Okinawan elders reveal that they are optimistic, adaptable, and easy-going. Religious beliefs are also very important, giving them comfort and support.

Most of them belong to moai, groups of old classmates, colleagues, friends or neighbors who gather several times a week to drink tea and chat. These networks provide lifelong emotional and financial support.

After reading this text, a question comes to my mind, who wouldn't want to live in Okinawa?

What makes a good nurse, really good? This question is frequent in my head.

I believe that a good nurse must have emotional and moral skills in addition to scientific skills, you must love this job and have the desire to always learn new things, be curious and continually update yourself.

There are many necessary skills, we have all the scientific skills, but the direct approach with the patient, with the parents, with the relatives should not be underestimated either.

I believe I will be a good nurse because I will always put the patient's emotions first, I will study and update myself to be up with the times.

I will try to carry forward the new nursing model, the patient is at the same level as the nurse, and I will focus on patient education, because tomorrow the patient will go away and will need to know how to treat himself, and how to take care of himself in the best possible way. Not knowing only creates fear, an the education depends on ous, sometimes we forget that behind a patient there is a human being and I want to become a nurse precisely to remember this.

During my pediatric nursing internship, I had the opportunity to work closely with an experienced clinical tutor. From the very beginning, she created a welcoming and supportive environment that allowed me to grow both professionally and personally. At a time when I was going through a difficult period in my life, she became not only a mentor but also a personal guide, offering emotional support and encouragement when I needed it most.

She patiently taught me each procedure, emphasizing both technical skills and the importance of empathy and communication with young patients and their families. Her constructive feedback helped me build confidence and improve my clinical abilities.

I especially valued how she involved me in decision-making and encouraged critical thinking. Thanks to her, I became more confident in tasks like administering medications and supporting children during challenging moments. Her mentorship has truly changed me, and I am deeply grateful for everything she taught me.

I imagine starting my career in a pediatric emergency department, where I can gain valuable experience in managing urgent and complex situations. I believe this environment will help me develop strong clinical skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure. In the future, I would like to work as a private pediatric nurse, supporting families in the growth and development of their children. I’m especially interested in working within the community, offering care and guidance at home and in local settings. My goal is to build strong, trusting relationships with families and contribute to the well-being of the territory.
