The reason for the extended window is that it our takes our children longer to develop. An adhd brain not being fully developed until the age of 25 years.

It is therefore crucial that our children have access to these extended windows to give them the time they need to grow and learn. Offering them their best chance in our community.

Why is it some children are given £45 000 per year via EOTAS and others are given £25 000 meaning their children are short of the provision they need.

While others are in unsuitable “ educational”settings destroying the spirits of our children and being paid £45 000 to £80 000 per year to do so.

A push for financial transparency is paramount. As is all children receiving their actual entitlement.

Along with any remaining funds that have been allocated to that child being used for their betterment.

Not taken back from parents and swallowed up in the LAs debts or other expenditures.

Why are children left for months on end without provision?

When children have provision why are budget payments being delayed by 4 to 6 months. Our first personal budget application taking 12 months instead of their 16 week policy.

Further hindering the development of the county’s most vulnerable.

There should be a push for consequences to staff members who fail to meet policy and the legal framework.. Accountability is required by those who continue to operate in a rogue environment without the highest good of our children in mind.

An end should be brought to children with obvious disabilities being fobbed off to tribunals for EHCP’s as a means of delay and discouragement tactics.

Our children are allocated finances sometimes years before it is issued or made available to them. Often by the LA’s omission and that leaves me wondering whose pocket those collective unallocated funds are in. They are certainly not where they should have been meeting our Childrens most basic needs.

We presented all feedback obtained in a sub group meeting on 4th October 2024, this meeting is looking at how to improve annual reviews, to in turn improve quality of all EHCP's. This subgroup will then feed back into the larger work stream meetings for improving the timeliness and quality of Education, Health and Care Plan's and assessments.
