Student #3- Letters and Numbers and colors. We play games with shapes too and sometimes animals. James Gee made a great point that if students can beat play these games and win/complete them, why can't we take that as a success instead of testing them every chance we get with assessments created with people who know nothing about our personal students. I am pledging to utilize more gaming in my classroom as an educational tool and not a reward system. Students who are playing a non violent video can utilize many character traits to describe their creations. The idea that there will be more and more creators in this genre of learning is eyeopening.
