Today, the Children’s Commissioner has launched ‘The Big Ambition’ to hear directly from young people, and parents from across the country:

“As we approach the General Election, I am clear that it is a crucial moment to take children and young people’s voices to policymakers, Government, and decision makers, to make sure they are heard.

That is why, through The Big Ambition survey I want to hear from young people about their schools, communities, family life, and the wider world. I will also be asking what they want for their future, their hopes, dreams, and aspirations.

It is critical that I take the voice of children from all backgrounds, all settings, and every part of the country to policy makers – to make sure their needs are heard.

I would appreciate your support and help in this, please share this survey with all children, parents, and carers within your network, so that their views are included. The findings will be used to advocate for children.”

The Priestley Education & Training Trust (PETT) was set up to support our students in financial hardship. It can be used for anything that supports you with achieving your educational aspirations. Students have received help with costs for attending a uni interview/audition or job interview clothes in the past.

Mental Health Crisis Line for Young People - New Service

Children and young people based in Halton, Knowsley, St Helens and Warrington up to the age of 18 who are experiencing a mental health crisis will have access to a dedicated 24/7 team for the first time.

The new crisis response team, based within Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust’s Child and Young People’s Mental Health Service, will help those under 18 who need an emergency response and aims to provide a risk assessment within four hours.

The service is available to anyone registered with a GP in Halton, Knowsley, St Helens and Warrington.

The service will provide:

Advice and consultation to professionals, parents, carers and children and young people
Emergency assessment and follow up
Brief intervention and home treatment.

The team works in partnership with social care, schools and other professionals to ensure children and young people stay safe.

The service can be contacted on 01744 415 640 and is available 24 hours a day and seven days a week.
