I chose this picture of a social movement against guns in schools because it is something that is happening now in current time. I chose this social movement as a reference to a crowd because a crowd has people that do specific actions to fit into the crowd they are in. This social movement is composed of crowds full of people who are not afraid to be barbarian so long as they get and achieve their reason for being there in the first place (Thio p 408). This connects with the chapter because these crowds are looking to socially change something about our country they do not agree with and will speak their voice in order to try their best to achieve this.
Attached is the web link for the article that goes along with the picture (http://www.cpr.org/news/story/colorado-joins-the-nation-as-crowds-hit-the-streets-for-the-march-for-our-lives).

I chose this picture of Muslim women who wear Hijabs that represent the American flag because to me this is a good representation of the divergence theory. Although they appreciate modernization they still choose to follow their religion as best as they can as it is what they are most comfortable way. Unlike the convergence theory which unites the western and non western countries the divergence theory tends to separate the two. There is that appreciation but everyone follows their own route (Thio p. 415). Attached is a web link of the picture ( https://islamwich.com/2017/08/25/an-american-islam/).

I chose this quote to represent the equilibrium theory. I have always said that everything happens for a reason and everything is put in place for a reason. I people didn't spill stuff at the movies there wouldn't be a need for the people that clean afterwards, if people have kids and work their wouldn't be a need for daycare, and if there wasn't crime there wouldn't be a need for law enforcement. Everything is put into place to make this world word the way it does it is what keeps everything stable and what stops this world from imploding (Thio 419).
Conflict Perspective: Revolutionary Change

I chose this quote from a revolutionary historical figure in my opinion Martin Luther King Jr. He was a historical figure because he didn't stop fighting for what he believed in until his last dying breathe and he sparked the need for change in hundreds if people that searched and longed for the same thing. This quote is important because if you stop doing what you believe in or stop fighting or what you believe in things will never get done, you cant sit around and wait for things to change. The fact that he didn't stop fighting and the people that surrounded him didn't stop fighting "society underwent a radical revolutionary change (Thio 420). Attached is a link to the quote (http://quotesnew.com/2017/05/09/martin-luther-king-jr-famous-quotes-our-lives-begin-to-end-the-day-we/12-inspiring-martin-luther-king-jr-quotes-business-insider-19946/).

I chose this video because it talks about self perception and how powerful it is. The social interaction that she has with that friend and classmate really affected the way she loved her life and thought about herself and it tended to become problematic (Thio p. 421).

I chose this picture for this category because it truly shoes the difference in the difference in the time periods. The difference in economy, technology, and amount of time spent with parents really changes the way kids grow. The book states that they are more likely to graduate from college now in days but I see a trend of people taking their time to do so as many don't finish schoolchild like stated here but the economy does seem to be prospering which is why the child now has more than a child then ever had (Thio p.422) Attached is a web link to the attached picture (http://izismile.com/2012/03/29/detailed_comparison_of_1980s_teens_vs_2010s_teens.html).

I chose this picture for this category because each day technology is getting better and better to the point where we are able and will be able to do everything from our phone or with technology efficiently. Technology will get blown out of the water and be mass produced there is a lot of social and technological change to come to the future we just have to wait and see as it happens (Thio p 424). Attached is a link for the picture (http://www.machinedesign.com/guest-commentary/6-future-mobile-technologies-could-arrive-2017)
