First of all I began researching the terms and conditions of filming in Manchester and Salford and found the contacts needed to inquire about certain locations (Screen Manchester and Salford Council).  I then created a document (linked at bottom) highlighting the Code of Practice when filming in public locations as the majority of locations used in this film are public.

is a very useful website that allows you to scroll through many locations in Manchester that are available to film in. I created a table to keep track of all the locations (linked below) I found this was the easiest way to communicate with the rest of the production team.

Unfortunately due to weather conditions we were unable to film in the exterior location we had chosen. To avoid the cancellation of any future shoots we decided to rethink our exterior locations. The first location alteration was the opening scene, originally we aimed to use Buile Hill Park. However after some consideration we decided we could get the same effect by creating 'pillow fort' in a rehearsal room in the Adelphi building. The second location we altered was 'Cal's living space'. We knew we would be facing problems due to weather conditions so I proceeded to find a location that was both undercover but also looked like a secluded area. Duke Street in Deansgate, Manchester was the most viable option due to the bridges surrounding the area. We shot Cal's Living Space under one of the railway bridges, ensuring we were filming when the trains over head weren't running. The third location change was 'The Experiment'. We were originally  looking to use a Manchester or Salford exterior however after some discussion we felt using a large room to create a homeless shelter would be much more effective. I contacted several community centers around Salford however after speaking to a few people and considering the props and costume we would need to source and purchase in a short time frame we realized it would be out of our budget. So we returned to the original idea.

I was on set throughout all exterior shoots to ensure care was being taken and the cast and crew were taking care of themselves and the equipment within the space.
