At this point in the book, Tree-ear has worked for Min for "two full moons" (p. 40). Your final project for this book will require you to design your own "Hero's Journey" cycle using this book and your responses as a reader. Using the graphic handout and the video we watched on the Hero's Journey, list the steps that you think Tree-ear has taken so far in his Hero's Journey. For each step, try tofind a passage to accompany it. This passage should help explain the stage you think Tree-ear is in. You don't need to write the passages yet, but you should mark these (use post-its) because you'll use them for the final project for this book. For help with this, think about these facts and questions:
- Tree-ear is the hero.
- His status-quo is life under the bridge with Crane-man.
- Has he been called to depart the status quo?
- Has his adventure begun? OR Has he entered the "initiation" stage?
- Does he have more than one guide?
- Is he facing trials?
This pic can be used as a reference.
