One example is that there is a high demand for an exclusive box of honey nut cheerios but there is a low supply, so the price would increase so the company would get a higher profit. Another way is that when the supply of poptarts is high but the demand is low the prices decrease because the company wants to encourage people to buy the product.
Lastly there are an increase of cars in the United States, so the demand for gas increases but the rate of production stays the same, so the price would increase because the gas company would want to profit in money off of the gas.

Supply:
if there were 3 boxes of cereal on the shelf and 4 people wanted it that would an example of supply effecting demand.
Another example is if the U.S. needed oil and Another country had oil but needed money then we would buy the oil and the other country would get the oil.
If Walmart had some gum that everybody wanted but they started to run out then they would have to raise the price of the gum since they were running out.

Demand:
Let's go back to the Walmart situation. Say that no one was buying the gum. Then, they would have to lower the price.
Next example: A new book just came out and since there is high demand for it, they had to increase the price for multiple reasons.
Some one went to the supermarket and bought all but 5 cans of sour cream and onion Pringles. There is now a high demand for sour cream and onion Pringles (and a whole bunch of angry people too). So, they would have to restock (thats a lot of Pringles to restock), or charge a higher price for them.

The supply of knowledge is infinite since knowledge is always expanding and and the demand for knowledge is super high. (3) Finally, firefighters because they are doing a job for us like putting out fires . The supply is high because safety is important. The demand is high because there have been a lot of forest fires recently.

market economies determine the prices of a good based on supply and demand because if you go to the store and there are 2 boxes of cookies and 6 people want to buy them they will sell them for a higher price this is because of scarcity and supply and demand so the people will sell a good for more if there is a scarce supply if there is a high supply they will sell a good for more another example is if there are 12 boxes of cookies and only a few people that want them they will sell them for less.

alex, jonhathan Supply and demand are market forces that determine the price of a product. An example is when customers are willing to buy 20 pounds of strawberries for $2 but can buy 30 pounds if the price falls to $1, or when a company offers 5,000 units of cell phones for sale at a price, and only half of them are bought.
