There is only one place you can travel directly from Kimmirut to, and this place is Iqaluit. The airport is mainly used for freight and passenger flights but can also be used for charter flights as well. We have only one school and the grades are from K-12. Jacob and I have attended all grades and graduated this year. The Akavak Centre where I am currently working is also connected to the school. This is where we have sports organized for youth in the evenings. They organize and have meetings about how many caribou we can hunt (each year is a different number) and this is just an example. They also talk about the populations of different animals and pay attention to their behavior.
