I am taking away a greater awareness of all the influences in my life that have formed my perspective on aging. I am gaining an awareness of how pervasive messages about age and ageism are.

Just becoming more aware of my own internalized beliefs and how that affects my ability to accept aging in myself and others.

One takeaway - semantics are so important: how we refer to ourselves and our older adult community, shapes perceptions.

I am aware of the need to take a strengths based view of aging, and also had a chance to discuss ways to do that, and ways I and others already see that.

One takeaway from throughout the various conversations: the power of intergenerational communities and workplaces for influencing how we think of aging, allowing opportunities for sharing of wisdom, and creating more fulfilling lifestyles for all of us.

I'm embracing that we are each in different places within this same space that we experience as ageism.
