Wells because she was an African American reporter, which at the time is a very big deal because African American women did not have much power and say in things. Another reason is she is a women that led anti-lynching crusades. Lastly, she formed multiple African American groups for justice for them.

I chose him over the others because his book is very descriptive of what it should be like. The industry was horrific as many people were dying. Also, the meats were being made with who even knows what.

Ida B. Wells is the muckraker that i'd nominate.
. Ida B. Wells was a African American journalist who advocated against lynching, and was a seeker for women's equal rights, and say. Wells grew up in the deep south in Mississippi, while growing up she faced countless racial discrimination that limited her from being a free American. I feel that she was the one that took all of the pressure compared to all of the other muckrakers. Wells was one of the biggest anti-lynching activist, she protested and stated that lynching was a cruel way of being executed.

In this book she exposed the unfair practices that Rockefeller used as he built his monopoly. This book is the reason that this monopoly was dismantled. Ida helped expand the role of newspapers in society and she became a role model for many other women wanting to become journalists.

I nominate Ida B. Wells to be inducted into the Muckrakers Hall of Fame because of all she had to go through. She had to deal with her parents and a sibling dying in a Yellow Fever outbreak and take care of the rest of her siblings at 16 years old and convinced a administrator that she was eighteen years old. Ida published a red record that let Americans know and become aware of the lynchings that were going on to predominantly African Americans. She's also a founder of the National Women's colored Association and a founding member of the National Association of Colored People. Wells also called for president Woodrow Wilson to put an end to discriminary hiring practices in government jobs against women. This is why I believe that Ida B. Wells should be topped as a member of the Muckraker Hall of Fame.
