It’s a bit the same when it comes to the development of rivers/agriculture which allowed for more effective trade and so economic success. But it’s mainly different in terms of agriculture or river success, in Egypt that had it easy since the natural flood of the nile river provided rich soil and a barrier against war and disease. While in Mesopotamia they had to do everything mainly artificially and had not much protection. They were able to trade though thanks to canals allowing them to irrigate.

They both trade with different people from different areas and in return get money and supplies to support their land. But the security of Mesopotamia land is not that great, and they are more prone to see intruders on their land. But Egypt uses rivers and other tactics to protect themselves and their land.
