Due to the positioning of pressure system and the warmth of 2015 and 2016 currents, hot, humid air was sent over the Arctic. Along with the air, the intensified solar radiation on cloudless days in the Arctic sped up the melting process, sending temperatures up to 8 degrees in areas.
