-Listening to them first and asking them for suggestions, before placing suggestions
-Conduct activities once a few months (i.e. games) to make them recognise that they have a choice and empower them
- Provide decision making role for the students, through a common WhatsApp group, to find the program/volunteer opportunity links for them to participate in, for example be someone else’s mentor, allowing them to recognise that they have a say in their life and ability to help others as well
-Put the spotlight on them and recognise their efforts
- Give them a safe place for them to be able to voice out their problems and issues and slowly try and hint them towards solving the issues

-Whether they are able to commit frequently
- May not feel comfortable to speak out and may not end up participating actively during the session even though they agreed to attend
- Money and Time
- Mentors would have to be mindful not to jump to solutions first, and rather give ideas and tools to the mentees. This would allow the mentee to come up with their own ideas.
- We only have 15 minutes. Thus, loaded principles and ideas are difficult to be packed within the short frame of time
