         <description><![CDATA[<p>Impacts:</p><p>- Even though San Francisco experienced a terrible Earthquake, the fires that raged on afterwards caused just as much, maybe even more, damage</p><p>- These fires resulted in 500 deaths</p><p>- The money needed to fix the damage was roughly eight billion dollars in today's money</p><p>- Half of the citizens became homeless and there became a high demand for housing</p><p>- The earthquake itself had a modern magnitude of 7.8 which meant that there was a lot of destruction including the destruction of housing, sewers and water mains and street car tracks</p><p>- Isabella</p>]]></description>
