The videos talk about how these 2 children had difficulties adjusting to human society after being found, and how they lacked basic skills that children their age had, such as to talk, eat or walk like a human. Instead they imitated the behaviors and ways of the animals that they were raised by.

This video showcased the experience of Feral children (Oxana and John) who was raised by animals (wild dogs & monkey). Both Oxana and John lived isolated from human contact from a very young age which resulted in their inability to learn, behave, and think like the people their age. The video showed the impact towards Oxana and John who adapted to these animal behaviours growing up and their inability to complete 'basic' human tasks due to their unfamiliarity. It is also shown that being raised by animals forced them to adapt to their behaviour, leaving long-term impacts.

The videos that we just watched was about John and Oxana who were raised by animals, rather than human parents. As a result of that, once these children are back in the human society, it is apparent how different they are from the general population. They can’t speak, they act more like the animals who raised them and do not understand the basic etiquette of being human. Through these videos, we get to learn about another culture that is different from ours. Even though we are the same kind, the same species, it is to be understood that everybody has a different way of upbringing which will, one way or another, affect their behaviour and reactions.

People adapt with the conditions of the environment that they’re in. This is why people change behaviours depending on the problem they’re facing, or needs to cope. Especially, when it comes to children, they’re like an empty glass that learns through imitation. This is why we start teaching children the basics of what it is to be human (count, talk, walk, and eat like a human). So, when children are raised by animals, they will imitate the behaviour because it is what they perceive as natural.

However, this has made me aware of the feral kids phenomenon since long ago. I don’t really have a say when it comes to how I see it, or what I feel about it. I mean, what do you expect? It's understandable that when a child needs to survive by being raised by an animal, it’s a natural thing for them to imitate those animals and not act human.

The first video shows a girl from a neglected home who assimilated herself to the behaviours and life of a pack of dogs in order to survive. Living as a 32 year old woman in a farm (at the time the video was published), doctors and researchers concluded that her mental capacity is that of a 6 year old, and she is able to control her dog-like tendencies. Whereas the second video shows a boy who was raised by monkeys. He still displays and adapts his behaviour based on monkey-like tendencies. These two videos imply that the environments we grow up have the power to shape our perception, behaviour, and interactions with the world. Additionally, it influences our capacities from a mental, physical, and emotional point of view. Human behaviour is developed through our understanding of our external environment and relationships (between other beings).

While the second one was also assumed to have been abandoned but was raised by monkeys. In short, the children shown in the videos lacked the basic skills to socialize and wasn't able to do anything else for that matter but act like the animals they grew up with for many years. Both videos definitely help to show just how crucial our environment becomes when we're growing up. Without a doubt, our environment can have a huge impact on our personal development, from our physical and mental state to our emotional well-being.

However, beside Wolf girl's story, I hadn't known there were other children lived through what she had. Personally, it was heartbreaking for me to watch as it felt like these children had been stripped away from a life that they were supposed to live because their environment couldn't provide it for them. However, they themselves aren't aware of the implications of their behaviour or the life they "lost".
