I know she is selfish because she took her husband's hard earned money just to buy herself a dress. She felt like her gowns just weren't good enough. She was very ashamed of her middle class life but then nearing the end she was ashamed of being the poorest of the poor. She was very ungrateful for the items she had. She couldn't appreciate the hard work her husband was doing for not only her but for them. Her biggest flaw was being ashamed. She felt like she couldn't wear her other dresses because it would make her look poor and others will mock her. She felt like she needed to impress the other people just to feel better about herself.
