And like the old joke that in comedy sincerity is everything, so if you can fake that you have it made, much the same might be said about singing. 

For example here I have never had a julip (nor even really know what one is) but never mind that. As a singer one can substitute something else that one does know in its place that can serve the same purpose.

Thus even if one is singing about something they have never experienced, (and may be mightily glad that they have not and hope to never ever to experience), one can never the less draw form things that they have experienced as used them as surrogates for those things one hasn't experienced.

BTW, the female (Becky) vocal is AI generated.

And yes, Ahhhh, "to be young on a night like this"... well one can be young at heart even not bodily so!

But it was fun to give it a try!

BTW, I added an AI female track as well as the cover art.

It seems that maybe the same can be said about the sheet music cover as well!

Then again, one can often learn from one's mistakes, even it that might often entail learning the hard way!

And yes, I am a bit lazy and as often skimp a bit on these rather than spend the time to perfect them.

BYW, I that was me on the trumpet (or cornet) and if it sounds OK that is because it probably took me a zillion takes and retakes to even get that!

For me these sound best when listened to with a good pair of headphones in that the music can get a bit thick and opaque and headphones help cut through some of that opaqueness of sound, and even better  play it through loud speakers and headphones which gives it an even richer sound

Sadly, he passed away many years ago at a rather young age from cancer.

One can readily see (and here) that he had much more musical talent than me, but we had many a discussion on how to play jazz music and one might see his influence on my home spun tunes here as well.

He was ahead of his time back in the 70's when he made these in regard to the revival of vintage jazz where he created his orchestra in Atlanta and played to enthusiastic crowds.

My one contribution to his orchestra is that I had bought and upright bass that I some time after failing to learn to play it, myself, I gave it to him, which in turn he gave to Allen, his bass player.

Their tenor sax player was a practicing dentist who played the sax on the side.

Their drummer and the rhythm guitarist, Lewis and Wayne, were childhood friends who lived in our neighborhood just a mile south of Brentwood Tennessee, which as a sleepy hamlet back in the early 70's and nothing like it is today.

And David played the lead guitar. David and Wayne did the arrangements as well.

Later on he added some additional musicians such as a trumpet player and a second female vocalist, Cynthia, who he later married and had three daughters, Savannah, Sarah, and Serena.

At that time I was getting my engineering in Electrical Engineering in Knoxville, Tennessee so I think I only heard the orchestra play live once in a trip we made down to Atlanta to visit him.

I have a old cassette that has additional tunes but doubt that it is still playable.

In regard to to the song Mood Indigo, Wayne changed his name to Ben Wayne, not liking his real last name and the other members of the band that did not know Wayne until joining the band suspecting that to be the case had a joke that where they said, you ain't Ben Wayne making a twist to the lyric you ain't been blue.

A wow, I miss David! But I am so glad that my sister in law of my other brother found this and sent me the link!

And I just downloaded it and here is my first tune using it!

And (hopefully) our persistent outdoor troubadour here is well with at least a tiny bit of favor from his heart's affection verses say being instead say handed a restraining order instead or the like!

And hearing this makes me want to watch My Fair Lady (again, the 1964 one, with Audrey Hepburn as well as Pygmalion.

BTW, I changed the ad lib ending a bit in that I wanted it to sound goofy with a touch of poignancy and not menacing which it sort of seemed the earlier version sounded..

A lot of technology went into this in I just discovered Play Score 2 where it scans Sheet Music PDFs and converts them to MIDI files or XML... pretty cool!

Next, yes , as it seems I keep getting older, even if that is starting to get a bit old, my voice is getting a bit scratchy... can't help that, but at least I am still alive and reasonably well, so no complaining there!

OK, the goal here in this song is to put a smile on one's face, nice work if one can get it!

At any rate this continues my dance theme here with a another song about dancing, though I am not seeing doing much dancing after just eating a steak dinner!
