But then a massive ship arriveded. Her brother ran ewey but she stayed too gathering outside of the ship, as her tribe hurried towards them. Her father, the chief, asked them why they were there. One of the Russians explained how he and his tribe wanted to stay on their territory while they hunt seals. He was hesitant to agree, since the last time he made a deal with a tribe it didn’t go as expected. But he agreed, getting 50% of whatever they get. Later, Karana’s tribe caught 14 massive fish. In the morning, the Russians went over and asked for half the fish. The chief denied it and got into an argument. Then the next day the Russians made a suspicious offer to trade their chests for the other tribe's pelts. The chief again denied but this time the Russians got so made that they fired their cannons.
